Types of dried figs
Iranian dried figs are one of the prominent items in the field of international trade and are in great demand. Estahban city is the center of fresh and dried fig production in Iran and the Middle East. About 25 thousand and 500 hectares are under cultivation of Estahban fig orchards and about 20 to 23 thousand tons of figs are harvested annually from the orchards of this city.
Types of dried figs
Export figs are classified into the following types:
Dried Figs Grade 101 (AAA)
The most expensive type is dried figs, which include light-colored seeds (white and yellow) and relatively large size (larger than 24 mm), and dried figs in this type are completely open and without fine and dark seeds.
Dried Figs Grade 101 (AA)
Grade 101 dried figs (AA) contain light-colored seeds (white and yellow) and a large average size of 22 mm. In this type, dried fig seeds have a maximum of 90% open mouth and a maximum of 4% dark seeds.
Dried Figs Grade 101 (A)
Grade 101 dried figs contain light-colored seeds (white and yellow) and size between 14 and 22 mm. In this type, dried fig seeds have at least 25% open mouth and a maximum of 15% dark seeds.
